UCO Named 'Great College to Work For'
The Chronicle of Higher Education named the University of Central Oklahoma as one of the “2014 Great Colleges to Work For.” Central is the only higher education institution in the state recognized on the list, and one of only a handful of institutions in the nation given the distinction of being named to the “Honor Roll” for being cited most often among all the recognition categories.

Central joins Duke, Baylor and Notre Dame on the list of the ten universities named to the large institution honor roll.

A new partnership between the University of Central Oklahoma’s Volunteer and Service Learning Center (VSLC) and the Edmond Rankin YMCA is growing in the form of a community garden, providing a transformative learning opportunity for students, and organic fruits, vegetables and herbs for Central Pantry, the food pantry on the university’s campus.
The University of Central Oklahoma College of Liberal Arts recently received a $25,000 donation from Edmond community leader Kenneth Rees to create the Kenneth R. Rees Endowed Scholarship in History Education.

Rees, who is passionate about public education, hopes the scholarship recipients will become strong historians who make a significant impact on K-12 students in the classroom.
